World Water Week
World Water Week is the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues. Organized by SIWI, the 2018 World Water Week will address the theme “Water, ecosystems and human development”. In 2017, over 3,300 individuals and around 380 convening organizations from 135 countries participated in the Week.
As part of World Water Week, on 26 August there will be an event, "The potential of natural capital accounting for better water management". Organized jointly by PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, Statistics Netherlands, UN Statistics Division, WAVES and the Government of the Netherlands, the session will have an overview of the use of the SEEA and other water accounts and ecosystem accounting in policy making.
