The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and UNEP-WCMC, in collaboration with other partners, will run a series of webinars to introduce the metadata for the proposed headline indicators in the draft monitoring framework. UNEP-WCMC has collated available metadata from indicator producers for each of the proposed headline indicators.

UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP) will organize a facilitated e-learning course on the compilations of climate change indicators focusing on energy and air emission accounts. The course is targeted at colleagues in national statistical systems (including those in line ministries working on climate change issues) who are interested in learning more about climate change and how an accounting approach can support the information needs on climate change.

This e-Learning programme is organized by UNSD, in collaboration with the UN ESCAP. It provides an overview of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) Central Framework (CF) and how it can be used for sustainable policy decisions. The e-Learning programme is directed towards select countries in Asia which have active SEEA programmes. In particular, the programme is aimed towards users and producers of SEEA accounts, with a focus on users of the accounts.
The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021.
The interactive dialogue will discuss ongoing developments related to ocean accounting in Asia and the Pacific.
These webinars are organized by UN ESCAP, UN SIAP and ROSSTAT from 12-14 October 2021
The webinars will focus on water and ecosystem accounts.
