Compiling climate change indicators: an accounting approach
UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP) will organize a facilitated e-learning course on the compilations of climate change indicators focusing on energy and air emission accounts. The course is targeted at colleagues in national statistical systems (including those in line ministries working on climate change issues) who are interested in learning more about climate change and how an accounting approach can support the information needs on climate change. It provides details on how to compile energy supply and use tables and air emission accounts which can be used to deriving information relevant to climate change. It also discusses how other environmental economic accounts such as those on water, land cover and expenditures can be a useful tool in getting a more complete understanding of climate change.
