This course organized by the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) introduces concepts relevan to compiling indicators that inform climate change. The topics covered include among others: climate change policies and indicators; energy and air emission accounts; and data sources. Weekly webinars will also be held as part of the course to provide an overview of the topics and allow participants to ask questions.
The second part of SBSTTA-24 to be held in person will follow up on the outcomes of first part held virtually from 3 May to 9 June 2021 (agenda item 3). During the first part, participants considered the draft monitoring framework (CBD/SBSTTA/24/3 and CBD/SBSTTA/24/3/Add.1) for the 2050 goals and the 2030 action targets of the updated zero draft of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework (CBD/POST2020/PREP/2/1).
