Global consultations: SEEA Central Framework update

This page contains information on the documents circulated for global consultation as part of the update of the SEEA Central Framework, which was mandated by the United Nations Statistical Commission in 2024. A total of 29 issues were identified for the update process and endorsed by the United Nations Statistical Commission in 2025.

During 2026, global consultations are being conducted on Guidance Notes prepared for individual issues.  These Guidance notes are prepared by lead authors and discussed and reviewed by the relevant task teams and the Technical Committee on the SEEA Central Framework. The Guidance notes reviewed and finalized by the SEEA CF Technical Committee of the UNCEEA are circulated for global consultation.  The outcomes of the global consultation will be made available in the table below. 

The global consultation on Guidance Notes for the update of the SEEA Central Framework is being implemented in three tranches.  The first tranche (nine Guidance Notes) was conducted from February to April 2026. 

The second tranche comprised ten Guidance Notes and will take place during June and July 2026.
