Compilation guidelines for GBF Headline indicators

The first Expert Group Meeting on SEEA-related indicators for the Global Biodiversity Framework took place in February 2026.The meeting reviewed initial drafts of the Compilation Guidelines for compiling GBF headline indicators A.2 and B.The meeting outcomes addressed multiple compilation issues for these two indicators using the SEEA Ecosystem Accounting SEEA.

Following the first Expert Group Meeting, advanced drafts of the Compilation Guidelines have been prepared for information for the twenty-eighth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-28) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). These versions of the guidelines are available below for information purposes only. A second Expert Group Meeting is scheduled for November 2026, following which revised versions of the Guidelines will be made available for public consultation:
