Valuing ecosystem services and ecosystem assets for The Netherlands

This paper provides an overview of the valuation techniques applied for the different ecosystem services and the practical issues encountered through the implementation of ecosystem accounts for the Netherlands. Statistics Netherlands has been collaborating with Wageningen University in the implementation of ecosystem accounts for the Netherlands. The ecosystem accounts for the Netherlands, including monetary supply and use tables for ecosystem services and the ecosystem asset account, are compiled on a regular basis.
