Using the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting Ecosystem Accounting for policy: A case study on forest ecosystems

Document Summary:
This article highlights the role the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA EA) can play in contributing to evidence-led, integrated policy action by delivering robust ‘policy-ready’ evidence when it is needed across the policy cycle. Using case studies for the EU Green Deal and Liberia, the authors demonstrate how the SEEA EA can support policy evidence needs, using forests as a policy theme. The paper has been prepared by a group of authors working under the auspices of the SEEA EA Working Group on Forest Ecosystems.
