Costa Rica environmental accounts 2024 release - Main findings

The Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) has compiled the first Environmental Accounts of Costa Rica for Water, Forests, and Energy. These accounts allow for the coherent and integrated accounting of the physical and economic value of natural resources and their relevance to national wealth. Additionally, they generate a series of indicators that provide insights into the supply and utilization of natural resources and their interaction with various economic activities in the country. This contributes to the formulation of public policy and decision-making processes. This report presents the main findings of the compilations.
