UNCEEA and the London Group
A number of international institutions and bodies work in environmental-economic accounting, helping to advance and implement the SEEA globally. Two of the most prominent include the UNCEEA and the London Group.
The United Nations Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA) has an umbrella function in providing overall vision, coordination, prioritization and direction in the field of environmental economic accounting. The UNCEEA regularly reports progress on its programme of work to the UN Statistical Commission.
In addition, the London Group on Environmental Accounting is a city group first created in 1993 which serves as a forum to advance methodological research and develop implementation advice for the SEEA. The London Group holds yearly meetings which allow practitioners to share their experience of developing and implementing the SEEA.
