Fifth Joint OECD/UNECE Seminar on SEEA Implementation

The Fifth Joint OECD/UNECE Seminar on SEEA Implementation was held on 13-14 February 2020 in Geneva (Switzerland). The annual seminar provides a platform for exchange of knowledge and experience, and supports the coordination of capacity development in the region, in line with the work programme of the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA).

74 experts, representing 32 countries, 6 international organisations, 5 research institutes and one NGO, participated in the last seminar which was held on 13-14 February 2020 in Geneva. The Seminar discussed how the SEEA can contribute to measuring the circular economy, provided practical examples on the implementation of statistics on environmental goods and services (EGSS), and informed participants about the ongoing revision of SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EEA). SEEA-EEA examples of the region were presented.

The meeting also hosted a poster session where experts from Armenia, Belarus, the Russian Federation, the World Resources Institute and the Institut Michel Serres presented their work related to production and use of different SEEA modules.
