Objective

The objective of the consultation meeting is to have consultations with relevant stakeholders in India with a view to have a shared understanding of the national and international context for the project Natural Capital Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Service. The mission will also include detailed discussions with the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation of the Government of India (MOSPI/CSO) to agree on the project plan and other coordination issues to launch the Project in India.

The Project aims to mainstream natural capital accounting and valuaton of ecosystem services in data driven decision and policy making with a view to influence policy-makers at antional, regional and local level. The Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Statistics Dvision (UNSD), United Nations Envrionment and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
