Towards Ecosystem Accounts For Uganda

The report on “Towards Ecosystem Accounting in Uganda” describes the results of the first iteration for experimental ecosystem accounts in Uganda. It indicates how information in ecosystem accounts could be used to support policy making and ecosystem management. Uganda has begun the task of creating ecosystem accounts, using data, modelling tools and capacity that are readily available. This report outlines the progress on the production of ecosystem accounts, including experimental accounts and the challenges of producing them, along with a plan for their ongoing production and potential use. All accounts were in physical metrics as time and resources did not allow monetary measures to be developed.
