Webinar: Global Consultation for the update of the SEEA Central Framework (Tranche 2)

The Webinar on the Global Consultation on Guidance Notes for the SEEA Central Framework Update (Tranche 2) is organized under the auspices of the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA) with the aim to support the update process of the SEEA Central Framework. This webinar will provide an overview of the global consultation process and highlight the key issues currently under review.

The global consultation on selected guidance notes is open for consultation until 31 July 2026. The nine guidance notes under consultation are listed below and available on the global consultation page at https://seea.un.org/content/consultation-update-SEEACF

  • Issue A2: Indicators
  • Issue A3: Update of existing information on environmentally-extended input-output tables (EE-IOT)
  • Issue A9.1: Consistency with the 2025 SNA revision – Natural resource accounting concepts
  • Issue A9.3: Consistency with the 2025 SNA revision – Definitions, classification and treatment of natural resources
  • Issue B4: Inclusion of text on quarterly accounts
  • Issue B7: Elaboration of waste accounts
  • Issue C1: Inclusion of the Classification of Environmental Purposes (revised CEA)
  • Issue C6: Inclusion of potentially environmentally damaging subsidies and related transfers
  • Issue C7: Elaborating environmental tax abatements and reliefs
  • Issue D3: Inclusion of integrated framework for physical produced assets
